What hardware requirements must I meet to Callfromweb?

Our web application uses Java technology so it requires Java Runtime Environment, if it is not installed on your PC your Internet browser
should detect that install it automatically. If not, you will have to download and install Java Runtime Environment from www.java.com.
What do I need to do, to Callfromweb?
All you need to do is register, by submitting the information in the registration form. After submitting the form, you will receive a mail with an activation link. Click on the link, login in to Callfromweb and top-up your account - after having done that you will be able to use our services.
What is the quality of calls?
The quality of calls depends on few factors:
If you are unsure about the quality of your Internet connection, test our service free of charge. Do I need to change my current telephone operator?
No, Callfromweb is a modern Internet telephony service which does not clash in any way with your current telephone operator. You do not even need a phone to Callfromweb.
Can I use other applications or devices to call via Callfromweb?
Yes, you can use any IP telephones or VoIP gateways that support SIP or IAX protocol.
Such as: Diax, Firefly, SJphone, Xlite.
Of course, we enourage using our callfromweb softphone. Can I test this service before topping up my account?
Yes, in order to do so please dial 9980 after logging in. You should hear a welcome message followed by music. This way you can verify that
your Internet connection is sufficient to callfromweb.
Can I call Callfromweb if I use a dial up modem?
Yes, a modem connection (56 kbps of bandwidth) is enough to use Callfromweb. However a broadband connection is recommended.
Do I need a public IP in order to Callfromweb?
No, Callfromweb works properly from networks with address translation - NAT.
Do I need to sign an agreement in order to Callfromweb?
No, with Callfromweb you top-up your account (pre-pay) your account. This is similar to pre-paid cellular phone services. No explicit agreement has to be entered.
What numbers can I call Callfromweb?
With Callfromweb you can dial any fixed or cellular numbers excluding special service numbers (such as 0700).pc2pc are free (calls between callfromweb users) pc2phone are not free of charge (from your pc to a fixed or cellular phone number) Can I call other call other VoIP networks via Callfromweb?

Can I call other callfromweb users, how much does it cost ?
Yes, in order to call another callfromweb user simply dial their account id number. For example: 300001.Calls to other callfromweb users are free of charge. Is there a subscription fee?
No, Callfromweb does not have any additional fees - only the fees for your telephone calls.
Can I use Callfromweb on Linux or Macintosh?
Our web application works on Linux as well. Support for Macintosh will be added very soon.
Can I still Callfromweb if I do not have Internet Explorer?
Yes, web our application works on all of the popular web browsers.
How do I dial the telephone number of the person I wish to call?
a) when calling a fixed telephone number you dial:00 + country code + city code + subscriber number, i.e. 0048228112233 b) when calling a cellular number you dial: 00 + country code + cellular phone number, i.e. 0048602602602 c) when calling another Callfromweb user you dial: user id, i.e. 300001 Can I Callfromweb when I am abroad?
Yes, with Callfromweb you can call from any where in the world provided you have an Internet connection.
Can I Callfromweb if I use a firewall?
Yes, in this case you only need to properly configure your firewall, that is unblock ports 80 TCP and 4569 UDP (or 5060 UDP if you are using a different SIP softphone).
The person I am calling can not hear me, what could be the cause?
Please check that your microphone is properly plugged in. Please also check that the microphone sound level is not minimal in your sound settings.
There is an echo when I place calls, how can I get rid of it?
Echo can be caused by a number of things. If you are using speakers and a microphone, the sound from the speakers is fed back to the microphone which causes an echo.
After loging in, how do I know the application is ready to make calls?
When using our web application, if you get a message 'Registration accepted' after logging in, you are ready to place calls with callfromweb.
If you are using our callfromweb softphone - 'Logged in' on the telephone screen means you are ready to place calls. Watch out! - Please remember that you can not use both the softphone and our web application at the same time on one pc. After logging in I get a 'Registering...' message on the web application, why?
Most probably some other thread is blocking our application's resources. Please close all browser windows and try to log in again.
A different reason could be that there is no connection with the callfromweb server or there is another IAX softphone running on your PC.
After logging in, instead of the phone there is a blank space with a red x in the corner, why?

Do I need to use my credits within a certain period of time?
No, contrary to some other service providers we have not introduced (and do not plan) any time periods within which you have to use your credits.
What do I need to do in order to get an invoice for the purchased credits?
In order to obtain an invoice for your payment, please click on the invoice link which can be found beside each submitted peyment in the "Your recent payments" section.
How does Callfromweb notify me of an incoming call?
An incoming call is signalled through a ringing sound and a blinking screen of the Callfromweb phone.
How can I configure a different device to make calls with Callfromweb?

When someone calls you when you are not logged in, the calling person will hear an announcement notofying them that you are not currently logged in.
If your voicemail is active, the caller will have an option to leave voicemail. The voice message will be sent as an attachment to your email address.
If your voicemail is inactive you will receive an email notifying you that someone was trying to reach you.
Can I send sms messages via callfromweb? If so, to which countries?
Yes, with callfromweb you can also send text messages (sms) to mobile phones. In order to send an sms, after logging in simply go to the
sms section of menu. An sms may have up to 160 charecters. You can send text messages to practically all mobile networks - detailed list of
countries along with the prices can be found in the reates section.
Are there any other fees except call costs when using Callfromweb?
No, registration and application use are free of charge. You only pay for telephone calls - in order to call you must top up your account.
Can I view my current balance and call history?
Yes, simply login to your Callfromweb account, and open the "My account" section, there you will find information (regarding your 10 last calls), such as:
How do I purchase credits in order to be able to call?
You can top-up your account using a credit card.All payments are serviced by "Allpay.pl" and are very safe. Payments are processed on-line however to prevent fraud attempts each transaction is manually verified by us. Verification may take up to 24 hours. The whole payment is for you to use for telephone calls - there are no additional fees. Are there peak and off-peak charges for phone calls?
No, the rates specified are valid throughout the day - and do not depend on the time of day or night or day of week.
What are the billing increments for phone calls?
Calls are billed at 60 second increments.
What are the call costs when I Callfromweb abroad?
For Callfromweb it does not matter which country are in - charges are identical regardless of your location. The amount that will be deducted from your account depends only on the destination you are calling.
By what amounts can I top-up my account ?
Currently you can top up your account by 10, 25 or 50 USD.
